Biography

Miss Lovell was a lifelong member of Woodland Street Presbyterian Church.

Midd Lovell was a member of The Old Woman’s Home Chorus.

Excerpt from a letter to Mrs. J. Hunter Orr, Board of Directors of the The Old Woman’s Home, from Walter l. Caldwell, Pastor Woodland Street Presbyterian Church:  “Miss Willie has not quite reached the age at which applicants are usually received, but her need is great.  Miss Willie has no training for any kind of work and is incapable of making a living for herself.  She is frail looking, but is seldom sick.  While she is not proficient, she could be of much assistance in The Home.  She is amiable and ladylike, and far more harmless than a mouse.  She is a member of this church, the only one of her family who is.  She is an inveterate attendant, she went about fifteen years without missing a Sunday.”
