Dianne has served as WEHF’s first Executive Director since January 2016, bringing extensive nonprofit and philanthropic experience and a passion for improving the lives of older adults. She has established a strong, values-driven infrastructure to support strategic grantmaking and advocacy that has advanced WEHF as a leading force in aging philanthropy locally and nationally.
Dianne serves on the Board of Directors of Grantmakers in Aging, a national philanthropic association; the Advisory Council for Lifelong Tennessee, Tennessee’s Multisector Plan for Aging; and on the leadership team of the Tennessee Coalition for Better Aging. From 2018 – 2024, she led a statewide consortium that designed and oversaw the SeniorTrust Grant Program that distributed $44 million to programs serving older Tennesseans, in partnership with the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability and the Chancery Court of Davidson County.
Chandra Allen is a proud Nashville native who brings a rich background spanning the nonprofit, corporate, and faith-based sectors. These diverse experiences have shaped her deep commitment to intentional relationship building and collaboration—particularly with underserved and marginalized communities.
Chandra joined The West End Home Foundation in 2021, drawn by a desire to elevate the often-overlooked needs of older adults and to help bring greater visibility to the resources and supports needed to age well. She currently serves as the Foundation’s Program Director, where she provides staff support for the annual grantmaking process and stewards ongoing relationships with community partners. In addition, she leads project coordination for the Foundation’s advocacy efforts and special projects.
Chandra earned a Masters of Divinity from Vanderbilt Divinity School and a Bachelor of Arts in German (Honors) from Davidson College. In 2024, she completed the Hull Fellows Leadership Program through Philanthropy Southeast.
Cindy joined The West End Home Foundation in 2012 to archive the Foundation’s historical collection that spanned over 120 years. Since 2014 she has provided administrative support to the staff and board and has helped create our strong organizational infrastructure. A big part of her job is managing our grant software platform and she has become everyone’s “go to” for technical support, whether you’re an agency applying for a grant or a board or staff member reviewing grant information in the portal.
