Community Life Bridge, a senior service agency based in Hendersonville, TN has officially launched their new program, Senior Ride Sumner. This new volunteer-assisted transportation program for older adults gave their first ride on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
Senior Ride Sumner is filling the gap in transportation services by pairing vetted and trained volunteer drivers with older adults who no longer drive themselves. Riders now have access to reliable transportation to medical appointments, hair appointments, errands and social engagements to enable them to remain active and engaged in their communities. The volunteer drivers and riders also have the opportunity for meaningful social interaction during the rides. It’s a winning combination.
Transportation services are now available in Hendersonville and the agency plans to gradually expand services County-wide. The West End Home Foundation provided start-up funding to help launch the program and is proud to be a funding partner.
